Black Saddle is a Western TV series that ran for forty-four episodes on NBC from January 10, 1959, to May 6, 1960. It stars Peter Breck (born 1929) as Clay Culhane, a former gunfighter who turned into a lawyer after his brothers were killed in a shootout.

The series was produced by Dick Powell's Four Star Television, and the original pilot was an episode of Dick Powell's Zane Grey Theater, with Chris Alcaide playing Culhane. For syndicated reruns, it was combined with three other short-lived Western series from the same company, Law of the Plainsman starring Michael Ansara, Johnny Ringo starring Don Durant, and the critically acclaimed creation of Sam Peckinpah, The Westerner starring Brian Keith, under the umbrella title The Westerners with new hosting sequences by Keenan Wynn.

Breck appeared in all episodes along with Russell Johnson and Anna-Lisa (born 1933) in the roles of Marshal Gib Scott and Nora Travers, respectively. Popular character actor J. Pat O'Malley appeared in eight episodes of Black Saddle in the role of Judge Caleb Marsh. Walter Burke, another character actor, appeared five times in the role of Tim Potter.

Breck, a veteran Hollywood film and TV actor, later went on to greater fame in another Four Star-produced western series, ABC's The Big Valley as the second oldest son of Victoria Barkley, the lead role played by Barbara Stanwyck.

Among guest stars on the program were Charles Aidman, John Anderson, Parley Baer, Raymond Bailey, Paul Burke, John Dehner, Frank Dekova, Dabbs Greer, Clu Gulager, Robert Harland, Ed Nelson, Bing Russell, and Richard Rust.
